My day usually begins at around 4 AM. I wake put on the coffee then get to work… mostly on the computer.
Usually just at sunrise I stop work and head out for my morning walk. The times and direction varies daily… but the walk happens one way or another. Sometimes I fight myself on doing it… which is (I freely admit) stupid because within half a block the feeling of well being begins.
The heart begins beating harder sending a warm surge throughout my body seeping away any physical, mental or spiritual blockages I may have woken up to with every step.
Along the way, I get to take in the early AM sights, sounds and smells of the neighborhood I live in… thus stimulating the senses involved in taking all of that in. Thus, when I get back and on with the second half of my work day… I return with a refreshed attitude and even a new perspective to the work I started earlier.
So, even on my “stupid days” when I fight this routine… and finally head out after lolly gagging… I am ultimately thankful that I engaged in it. So, my daily walk and the overall sense of well being I feel doing it is my count this week.
Cheers!
