It does happen on my street on occasion. This time it was Scats On The Sly who entertained the neighbors with songs from the 30′s and 40′s on Memorial Day. It was nice to see about 30 – 40 neighbors… along with those taking an evening walk… take a pause to enjoy the entertainment. Always a fun thing.
On May 26th my old Boy Scout friend, Beow Lim successfully scaled up to the summit of Mount Everest. Here is the report from this site.Hi, today is the 26th of May. Beow Lim and Pasang Sherpa just summited! The time is 1:15 p.m. Chinese time.
Josette set off for the summit. Last night she came back because it was too cold and decided to go for it during the day. She’s up there now trying to get the summit.
Tonight Jan, Gyalje and Tenji Sherpa are going for the summit after dinner. Today is Jan’s birthday! She is 68 years old.
Mega congratulations to Beow on this grand achievement! He’s done us all proud.A bit of a back story… he once fell off Takun (pictured over to the right) and a rescue effort had to be organized.
Some of us claim he’s been “a little different” ever since. If that “difference” means that years later he got to conquer Everest… “different” may not be a bad thing after all.
It’s all good over here and hope it is for you too.

Yes, for the 4 of us who went to base camp, we have a some idea of what it is like.
Amidst the raw beauty, it is NOT a fun experience.
Anyways, after 30 yaers of procrastinating I am now taking the guitar (electric, and mainly 70s metal and rock, plus blues) seriously and playing as much as I can before time runs out and the stylus of life lifts up from the turntable of this world. Love the sound from that instrument.
Hope you are well.
EUMING
EUMING, what’s important is you are doing it! that’s key. Cheers, my friend.
Marcel, great posting on Beow’s achievement and the history re Takun. Beow is and will always be different but he is a great guy and friend. Maybe falling off mountains are not a bad thing as long as we live to tell the story!!!
I was in San Fran last Dec, just for 3 nights beautiful city.
Take care
